On Wednesday, June 29th, we hosted our first TRX Suspension Training System Workshop from 530pm to 730pm. This two-hour event was open to the public for only $20 per person and included hands-on training with the most versatile, affordable, and mobile training structure on the planet.
Created by a Navy Seal to help them stay in shape while on deployment, the TRX allows you to get a full-body workout, stretch, and even rehabilitate injuries. During this workshop, we took time to dive into the three primary theories behind the TRX System to educate attendees on how it works while sharing multiple exercises to keep everyone engaged and training for years to come. This process accomplished educating all attendees on proper form and structure through these theories so that they can continue to use a TRX anywhere and apply it to other activities so that they can move smoother, faster, and stronger through better awareness of how to challenge their body.

“The TRX class we had was really informative. I enjoyed the slower pace to take in the proper techniques, as well as the improper movements to avoid. After a short period of explanation and demonstration, we then had a couple minutes to go over what we were taught for ourselves. “I always enjoy the TRX workshops taught at Martial Way. The most recent workshop was a little different concept than most. Guro Larry broke down the movements on quite a few of the exercises we do from time to time in class and really let us focus on how each move is done correctly. The only way to get the most out of your workout on the TRX is to know how to do the moves and to do them well. There is also the aspect of safety. Too many times I've seen people use the equipment without the proper knowledge to carry each move through. I felt like this workshop gave each participant the opportunity to learn how to do each move, learn why we do the move and what areas it helps, and how to best position ourselves to carry it out in the most efficient way to get the most out of the exercise. It taught us spacing/distance from the wall, the length of the straps, and foot/hand positioning. Another cool thing about the workshop is it was fun for kids and adults and everyone got to try all the moves!” Sonja
